A pair of Thursday night games kicked off the Week 0 slate, as JSZ has highlights from Deptford-Cherry Hill East and Hasbrouck Heights-Cresskill.

With Al Orio returning to the sidelines to begin a second stint with the Spartans, Deptford dominated the Cougars to open the season. The Spartans raced out to a 34-0 halftime lead, as Jamir Robinson threw for a pair of touchdowns and rushed for a score. Lee Chandler and Elijah Jones-Ali had the TD receptions for Deptford, with Mikel Hamlet rushing for a score. Isaiah Morton added a special teams touchdown in the first half. Garry Pitts ran for a TD in the second half for the Spartans.

Cresskill 35 Hasbrouck Heights 14
There’s nothing quite like opening your season with a statement. Cresskill quarterback Aidan Feulner ran for 144 yards and four touchdowns as the Cougars ended Hasbrouck Heights’ 15-game win streak. Cresskill also notched their first win against the Aviators since the 2006 season.
