Bayonne 53 Kearny 6

Christian Ashe wasted no time showing out in Bayonne’s home opener. Ashe compiled 292 yards and four touchdowns on only nine touches (seven catches, two carries) as the Bees (2-1) stung early and often in their takedown of winless Kearny. Rocky Rodriguez also had four carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Dunellen 26 Highland Park 14

Dunellen (1-2) picked up its first win of the 2021 season following a 26-14 win over Highland Park (0-3). The Destroyers went ahead 12-0 at halftime on touchdowns from Nasir Tippet in the first and second quarters. In the third quarter, Dunellen got the ball with 10 minutes remaining and did not score until there was 8:28 left in the fourth. From there, both teams would exchange late touchdowns. Nasir Tippet finished with 150 total yards and three touchdowns.

Gateway 36 Haddon Township 22

Nick Tartamosa ran wild for the Gators, finishing with 284 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. Gateway QB Mike Scambia also had a big night, throwing for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Scambia added 61 yards on the ground and a score for Gateway (1-1). Zach Gruber had a pair of touchdown runs for the Hawks (1-2) in the loss.
