There’s a few big games on the pitch Thursday before we get into the weekend! Check in throughout the night as our coverage comes in!

Scotch Plains-Fanwood 2 Elizabeth 1 | Boys

Aavik Akarte’s 25-yard missile in the 51st minute was the game winner after the two teams traded goals in the opening two minutes.  Jayvon Young scored just 36 seconds into the match to put SPF in front before Elizabeth’s Miguel Brito answered at the 1:48 mark.  Akarte’s goal was majestic and will be part of JSZ’s Top 10 Plays of the Week.  Scotch Plains-Fanwood is off to a 2-0-1 start to the season.

Delbarton (2-0) was given a red card in the 45th minute, but then scored twice on penalty kicks later in the second half to pull away for the win. Goalkeeper Sebastian Rubio was stellar in the clean sheet effort, as he made seven saves while Randolph (2-2) threw everything they could on goal.

Sterling 0 Haddonfield 0 (OT) | Girls

Olivia Budesa finished with a pair of saves in net for Haddonfield (1-2-1). These teams will meet again on October 3rd.
