The first sectional championships of the 2026 baseball season were up for grabs on Thursday as JSZ has coverage from three Non-Public sectional title games. Stay tuned as the highlights are posted throughout the night!
St. Augustine 6 CBA 0 | Non-Public A South Final
Gatorade NJ Player of the Year Alex Weingartner followed up his heroics in the semifinal with a brilliant performance on the mound to guide the Hermits to their second sectional title in three years under head Coach Mike Ney. Weingartner, a Penn State commit, tossed a complete game two-hitter with nine strikeouts in his final home game. Old Dominion commit Brady Jackson had a pair of RBIs to lead the offense for St. Augustine (22-7). Defending sectional champion CBA (18-9) had an eleven-game winning streak end with the loss. St. Augustine wins its 13th sectional title overall and they will face North champion Delbarton for the Non-Public A state title next Wednesday at Rutgers University.

Delbarton 11 DePaul 1 (6 innings) | Non-Public A North Final
Finnian O’Loughlin went 4-4 with two triples, two runs and four RBI’s to lead a 15 hit attack and give the Green Wave (27-4) a spot in the Non-Public A state championship game against St. Augustine. Sal Garcia had three hits, two stolen bases and an RBI and Matt Tafuri and Lorenzo Maselli each drove in two runs. DePaul Catholic’s lone run came from MLB Draft prospect Jason Amalbert who’s last high school hit was his 12th homer of the year.

Gloucester Catholic 8 Bishop Eustace 1 | Non-Public B South Final
In a tight 1-1 sectional title game, Jason Bogart drove in two runs in the bottom of the fifth, sparking a seven-run inning that propelled Gloucester Catholic (26-4) past Bishop Eustace (25-5). Jude Morgan was dominant on the mound, tossing a complete game and striking out six while also driving in two runs at the plate. The Rams captured their fourth straight Non-Public B South championship and now turn their attention to Rutgers, where they’ll defend their state title and pursue a fourth consecutive Non-Public B crown.
