Rumson-Fair Haven 9 CBA 8 | Boys | Shore Conference Tournament Final
No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven boys lacrosse are *still* Shore Conference champions! The Bulldogs survived a late scare to defeat No. 16 Christian Brothers 9-8 in Thursday’s Shore Conference Tournament final, one of our ACI Medical and Dental School Games of the Week.
RFH led 4-1 into the halftime locker room with a stellar first two quarters from their defensive unit. The Colts kept things even for much of the half, but the Bulldogs jumped out to a 9-5 lead with just over 6:00 remaining in the 4th quarter. Then, CBA rattled off four straight goals to pull it within one with 15 seconds left. Off the ensuing face-off, superstar sophomore Daniel Varone’s long range shot was saved by Peter Kessler to secure the nailbiter win.
Blake Ahmann led the Dawgs in scoring with a hat trick, followed by Teddy Whitehouse with two goals. Varone had a hat trick for CBA as Caden Lucich put in two goals.
