We’ve got a pair of games on the baseball diamond in New Jersey high school baseball on Thursday. Mike Frankel takes us down south for Triton and Highland and Rich Chrampanis has round two of CBA and Manalapan in the Shore Conference

Triton 11 Highland 7

The Mustangs exploded for nine runs in the top of the first inning to build a commanding lead. Matt Woods, John Scarborough, Aiden Sommers, Mike Shannon, and Jake Durham all drove in runs in the opening frame. La Salle commit Dylan Maria hit two home runs and finished with five RBIs for the Tartans in the loss. JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the highlights from this key Tri-County Conference rivalry game:

CBA 3 Manalapan 1

After a two day 15 inning marathon won by the Braves, CBA turned around and handed Manalapan its first loss of the season thanks to a 2-hit masterpiece courtesy of Joe Escandon. Manalapan used a hit and an error to set up a sacrifice fly to strike in the top of the first, but Escandon put up six straight scoreless frames walking just two batters and striking out six. CBA scored on a pair of fielder’s choices in the first and second along with an RBI double from Mason Wolf in the second. Watch the highlights and post-game reaction from Lincroft:
