We’ve got two more great Thursday baseball games.  Check out the Prep “B” state championship and a regular season upset!

Pennington 2 Rutgers Prep 0 | Prep B State Championship

(1) Pennington claims its first Prep B Baseball Championship since 2018 following a thrilling 2-0 win over (2) Rutgers Prep. An RBI double from Gavin Leeds gave Pennington an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. The game remained at that score until Leeds was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning. Pitching ruled the evening as Virginia commit Bryce Meccage collected his second straight shut out with a 14 strikeout performance, allowing just three hits. Maryland commit Zach Fronio finished with eight strikeouts for Rutgers Prep.

Manalapan 4 Old Bridge 3

Cristian Bernardini’s fly ball to center with the bases loaded gave the Braves an upset over the 12th-ranked team in the latest state poll.  Bernardini had an RBI triple and RBI single to draw the Braves even.  Down 3-2, Old Bridge’s Mike Villani delivered an RBI double with two outs in the seventh to force extra innings.  Manalapan loaded the bases in the 7th and 8th and won it on an error.
