It was a big day in girls lacrosse with several of the state’s best in action on Thursday. #7 Trinity Hall squares off with #13 Rumson-Fair Haven in our ACI Medical & Dental School Game of the Week. Crosstown rivals collide as #9 Oak Knoll takes on #11 Summit. #2 Moorestown tries to stay unbeaten against in-state competition in a tough test against #17 Cherokee. Plus in boys lacrosse, Notre Dame and Robbinsville tangle in a great CVC matchup. Stay tuned as the highlights are posted throughout the night!


Trinity Hall 8 Rumson-Fair Haven 6 | Girls

Chiara Donohue had five goals and an assist to help Trinity Hall race out to a 7-0 lead before holding on to stay a perfect 9-0 on the season and maintain the top spot in the Shore Conference.  Donohue had a hat trick in the first quarter and scored the first two goals of the second quarter to reach 55 on the season.  RFH rallied in the second half with Becca Newell scoring a hat trick and Chloe Kelly adding a pair of goals but the defending Shore champs would run out of time.  Anna Pharo had 11 saves in goal for the Monarchs.

Moorestown 6 Cherokee 5 (2OT) | Girls

The second-ranked Quakers turned defense into offense in double overtime to score a thrilling top-20 victory in an Olympic Conference battle with the seventeenth-ranked Chiefs. Tess Murphy came up with a big ground ball to get things started before she found Charlotte Lynch for the game-winner. Lynch went for a pair of goals, while East Carolina commit Ella Brittain also scored twice in the win for Moorestown (6-2). Brianna Salabritas netted a pair of goals, while Coastal Carolina commit Abby Ball scored her 38th goal of the season for Cherokee (8-2).

Oak Knoll 12 Summit 9 | Girls

After a rough two-game stretch, No. 9 Oak Knoll picked up their fourth win in a row on Thursday as the Royals defeated crosstown rivals No. 11 Summit 12-9. OKS’s key to victory was how they started, a 7-2 run into the early 2nd quarter, punctuated by a hat trick by Notre Dame commit Maris McGinty in just the 1st quarter. She went on to lead scoring with four goals, while Georgetown commit Lauren Dietrich and Taylor Martin each had three goals of their own. Summit’s Frankie Arcella was the Hilltopper’s lead scorer with a hat trick.

Notre Dame 17 Robbinsville 12 | Boys

The Ravens fought until the end, but it was the Irish who exploded in the third quarter, scoring eight goals. Rutgers commit Emanuel Jastrzebski found the back of the net nine times, setting a career-high and raising his goal count to 44. Colby commit Roman Klish added a hat trick to reach 39. Notre Dame (9-2) ends a seven-game winning streak for a hard-fought Robbinsville (7-2) team.
