Thursday featured some serious opening week showdowns in boys lacrosse. Check back throughout the night to catch all of the highlights!


Seton Hall Prep 11 Manasquan 4

Seton Hall Prep’s red hot start to the 2021 season continues. The Pirates (2-0) downed perennial Shore Conference and Group 1 power Manasquan behind two-goal days from Quinn Moore, Jack Dunleavy and Matt Wrede. Wrede, a junior committed to North Carolina, finished the day with a game-high five points. Jacksonville commit Ryan Dellarocco was a beast between the pipes, stopping seven shots for The Prep. Manasquan (1-1) has to wait until Monday for their next game.

Monroe 13 Old Bridge 9

Monroe (2-0) picked up their second win of the 2021 season with a 13-9 comeback win over Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division foe Old Bridge (1-1). The Falcons trailed 6-3 at halftime following a combined six goals from Old Bridge’s Guerin San Augustin and Ryan Christensen. San Augustin ended the afternoon with six total. Monroe would score three unanswered goals to begin the second half before eventually taking and maintaining the lead. Antone Updale and Chris Pucciarelli each finished with a hat trick while Collin Dominquez and Chris Chaves had a pair goals.

St. Augustine 12 Moorestown 3

This battle of South Jersey powerhouse programs was all Hermits. St. Augustine took the lead less than 20 seconds into the game and never looked back. Matt Vanaman, Ryan Demato, Nicky Casano, and Luke Scarpello all scored two goals apiece for the Prep (1-0). Ben Polich had a pair of goals for the Quakers (0-2) in the loss.
