Hillsborough 4 Westfield 3 (OT) | Public A Semifinal

Logan Behrje’s third goal of the night was the biggest as his heroics in overtime lifted the Raiders past the Blue Devils in a great back-and-forth contest. Behrje willed Hillsborough (16-8-2) back into the game in the third period and helped the Raiders erase a 3-1 deficit. Westfield (14-8-2) had chances to put Hillsborough away late in the game but ultimately could not capitalize. The Raiders will face Skyland Conference rival Ridge in the Public A state championship game on Monday,

Ridge 3 Livingston 1 | Public A Semifinal

Collin Ward’s long shot from behind the blue line broke a 1-1 tie in the third period to give Ridge a return trip to the Prudential Center to defend its Public “A” state championship. Zach Alvin opened the scoring in the second period with a bard down snipe from the slot to give Ridge a 1-0 lead.  Ryan Zales scored off a rebound that hit the post to draw Livingston even early in the third period but Ward answered 1:17 after the game-tying goal to put Ridge in front for good.  Nico Evangelista added an empty net goal to seal the victory.  Ridge will face Hillsborough on Monday at the Rock for the state title.
