Roselle 78 Union 73 | Boys | Union County Tournament First Round

With Wednesday’s win in the books, the 11th-seeded Rams are headed to the UCT quarterfinals for the first time in 10 years. Roselle (20-3) is enjoying a great season so far and they continue to punch above their weight in county action. Isaiah Fuller led all scorers with 24 points while Tahdir Carson logged 20 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Riley Flood scored a team-high 20 points for six-seed Union (11-10) in the loss.

Hammonton 42 ACIT 41 | Boys | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament 2nd Round

The Blue Devils led by ten at halftime, but had to survive a 12-minute field goal drought in the second half to advance in the CAL Tournament. Tyler Lowe led Hammonton (16-7) with 12 points, while Kenny Smith scored 11 in the win. Desi Stroud scored a team-high 12 points for ACIT (18-6) in the loss.

Rumson-Fair Haven 68 Freehold Township 59 | Boys | Shore Conference Tournament 2nd Round

Nick Rigby led four RFH Bulldogs in double digits with 19 as the #9 seed was able to build a 4th quarter lead and knock off 8th seeded Freehold Township at the free throw line.  Luke Schoor had 18, Mason Yablonski scored 13 of his 15 in the second half and Davey Carr added 14 for the 17-5 Bulldogs.  Malachi Harris led all scorers with 25 in a losing effort.  Rumson will face top seed Manasquan on Saturday in the Shore Conference Tournament quarterfinals.

Westfield 59 New Providence 33 | Boys | Union County First Round

(5) Westfield (15-6) defeated (12) New Providence (12-9) 59-33 in the first round of the Union County Tournament. The Blue Devils went up 35-21 at halftime and pushed their lead passed 20 in the third quarter. Theo Sica finished with 13 points, TJ Halloran had 8 points and 10 rebounds, Shane Sheehan finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

Our Lady of Mercy Academy 52 Bridgeton 27 | Girls | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament 2nd Round

The ninth-seeded Villagers took control in the second quarter and never looked back on their way to clinching a spot in the CAL tournament quarterfinals. Madelynn Bernhardt led the way with a game-high 21 points. Savannah Prescott (14 points) and Catholic University commit Angelina Dragone (10 points & 12 rebounds) finished in double-figures for OLMA (13-9). Adelina Wilks poured in a team-high 18 points in the loss for eighth-seeded Bridgeton (18-5).
