Verona-Glen Ridge 2 Glen Rock 1 (5OT) | Kelly Cup Final

Jack Budinick scored on a rebound :30 into the fifth overtime to end the longest high school game in New Jersey high school hockey history.  VGR lost to Glen Rock twice in the regular season but got revenge to win its second Kelly Cup.  Tied 1-1 after regulation, Glen Rock goalie Luke Brassil and VGR goalie Jackson Soshnick were sensational keeping their team in the game.  Brassil finished with 48 saves and Soshnick had 44 stops.  After the first 15 minute overtime, 4-on-4 skating and 7:30 minute periods took over with the game nearly approaching four hours before Budinick’s heroics.
