The Eagles outlasted the Crusaders in overtime in a thriller to open the season in North Wildwood. DJ Germann poured in a game-high 28 points in the win for EHT. Jay-Nelly Reyes and Jamil Wilkins chipped in with 13 points apiece. Justin Harper paced Catholic with 20 points in the loss.

Don Bosco 63 Paterson Eastside 43 | Boys

The Ironmen have championship aspirations in 2022 and got things off to a great start with a season-opening win over the Ghosts. Dylan Harper scored a team-high 18 points in the win, Evan Cabral netted 11 and both Zay Brown and Noah Barnett each had 10 points. Bryce Stokes paced Eastside with 18 points of his own in the loss.

Saint Rose 42 Red Bank Catholic 40

Freshman Jayden Hodge had 22 points and Matt Hodge (Junior) added 9 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots in their St. Rose debut to lead the Purple Roses past the Caseys on opening night.  The Hodge brothers come to Belmar from Belgium where they were both on the national under-16 and under-18 teams respectively.  St. Rose awaits three transfers in mid-January who will make the Roses not only a Shore Conference contender but a state power.  Colin Cavanaugh had 17 points in a losing effort for RBC who had a chance to win the game in the final seconds but could not convert.

South Brunswick 48 Monroe 34

South Brunswick begins the year 1-0 following a 48-34 win over GMC Red Division rival Monroe. The Vikings led 23-17 at halftime before increasing the deficit to double digits in the fourth quarter. Kalani Antoine led all scorers with 21 points.
