Girls’ soccer sectional champions were crowned across the Garden State on Thursday. Plenty of hardware was handed out and we have highlights from a number of games. Stay tuned throughout the night as our coverage rolls in!
Westfield 1 Bridgewater-Raritan 0 | North 2 Group 4 Final
Audra Toth was once again the hero for the Blue Devils as they repeat as sectional champions. Toth’s second half goal was the only score of the day for top-seeded Westfield (18-1). Blue Devils’ keeper Sofia Buoscio was reliable in net and made five saves in the win. Westfield advances to face Montclair in the Group 4 semifinals next week.

Jackson Memorial 4 Lawrence 1 | Central Group 3 Final
The Jaguars scored two goals in the first 11 minutes and Faith Moroney added two more goals to give the Jaguars their first section title since 2010. Ella Cooke opened the scoring in the 8th minute and followed that with a corner kick that was headed home by Zia Gould to make it a 2-0 Jaguars lead just 11 minutes in. Cooke’s second assist was on Moroney’s first goal late in the first half. Jackson Memorial entered the post-season 6-10-1 and has caught fire with four straight wins.

Shawnee 2 Ocean City 0 | South Group 3 Final
Miami commit Madelynn Sadusky netted a pair of goals to power as the Renegades remained perfect on the season and scored a second-straight sectional championship. Syracuse lacrosse commit Mackenzie Borbi had eight saves in net and earned her 15th clean sheet of the season for top-seeded Shawnee (23-0). Kaia Ray finished with nine saves in the loss for third-seeded Ocean City (20-5). Shawnee will face Jackson Memorial in the Group 3 state semifinals on Monday.
