Matt Vernon’s redirect off a corner in the 29th minute was the only goal of the match as the Steinert backline allowed just two shots on goal to the Redbirds. Chances were few and far between as the Pioneers battled the Minutemaids in the South Jersey Coaches Tournament. Ava Gaiser’s goal in the 69th minute proved to be the difference. Madison Wessel and Gemma Keesler combined for the clean sheet for View, as the 10th-seeded Pioneers advance to the quarterfinals to face either Ocean City or Delsea.
