Pennington 4 Notre Dame 0 | Boys | Mercer County Tournament Final

Third seed Pennington captured its seventh consecutive Mercer County Tournament Championship following a 4-0 shut out over top seeded Notre Dame. The Red Hawks got the game started with a goal from Felix Shapiro to lead 1-0 at halftime. Hugo Martinez-Luque, Alvaro Carnicer Cozar and Juan David Borges added scores in the second half to pick up the team’s ninth straight win.

Pennington 1 Allentown 0 | Girls | Mercer County Tournament Final

Top seed Pennington closed out the Mercer County Tournament with more hardware for the trophy case as the Red Hawks captured their fourth consecutive title with a 1-0 win over third seed Allentown. After a scoreless first half, freshman Sarah Chrnelich’s goal less than five minutes into the second would be the game’s only score. It was the first game this season junior Morgan Kotch did not have a goal for TPS, Kotch a high level recruit has found the back of the net 33 times so far this year.

St. Augustine 1 (7) Egg Harbor Twp. 1 (6) | Boys | CAL Tournament Semifinal

It took 100 minutes and eight rounds of penalty kicks, but the fifth-seeded Hermits knocked off the top-seeded Eagles to advance in the Cape-Atlantic League Tournament. Mason Taylor make several key saves for St. Augustine (10-5-3) in regulation, in OT, and in PKs. Sawyer Widecrantz scored a goal in regulation for the Hermits. Nate Biersbach scored a goal in regulation for EHT (13-4-2).
