St. Peter’s Prep 2 Kearny 1 | Hudson County Tournament Final | Boys

A brace courtesy of star freshman Philip Sayouwoh lifted the Marauders to their first county championship since 2019. Sayouwoh opened the scoring in the 21st minute and then buried the game-winning goal in the 78th minute to secure the win for top-seeded St. Peter’s Prep (15-3). Hans Zoller’s masterful free kick goal was the lone tally for second-seeded Kearny (11-4) in the loss.

Kearny 1 (5) Bayonne 1 (4) | Hudson County Tournament Final | Girls

The Kardinals were tested all night long but their incredible streak lives on to see another year. Third-seeded Kearny (5-7-1) won it’s 15th consecutive Hudson County Tournament championship after going 100-plus minutes and then into a seven-round shootout to determine a winner. Aracely Vazquez sealed the win for Kearny after making the final stop in the PK round. Kylie Galano scored the lone goal for top-seeded Bayonne (13-2-1) in the 77th minute to tie the game and force overtime.

Mainland 1 (4) Cedar Creek 1 (3) | Boys | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament Semifinal

The Mustangs lost twice to the Pirates in the regular season but they were able to turn the tables to advance to the CAL Tournament Final. Tristan Miller delivered a huge save in the final round of PKs to set up the Mustangs for the win and finished with nine saves in the victory. Owen Chew leveled the match in the 61st minute to force overtime. Luke Simon netted a goal in the loss for Cedar Creek (14-0-3). Mainland (11-4-1) will face top-seed St. Augustine for the CAL Tournament championship on Monday.

Howell 4 Manasquan 1 | Girls | Shore Conference Tournament Semifinal

The Rebels scored four unanswered goals after falling behind early in the match to punch their ticket to the Shore Conference championship.  Manasquan’s Riley Rampone scored in the 4th minute off a free kick to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.  Howell responded seven minutes later with a Makenzie Memmolo goal to level the match.  Victoria Nieves, Jade Vieira and Allison Nase all scored in the second half to give the Rebels a sixth straight win.  The #13 seed takes on 7th seed Middletown South for the championship on Saturday.
