We turn the calendar to October and kick off Week 5 with five matchups from around the Garden State. Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!
St. Peter’s Prep 21 Seton Hall Prep 14 | Super Football Conference
Aaren Cirino scooped up a fumble and ran 95 yards to set up Zack Karelis punching in the game winner from 4-yards out to help the Marauders (4-1) avoid an upset from the Pirates (2-4). Seton Hall Prep scored twice in the third quarter on a Jaylin Bullock TD pass to Benjamin Ross and a 1-yard TD from backup QB Ty Necomb to take a 14-7 lead. Ty’ire Clark scored on the final play of the third quarter from five yards out to tie the game 14-14. Seton Hall Prep had a 1st and goal from the 3-yard line and faced a 4th and 1 from the one. Clark caused the fumble on Bullock’s attempt to dive into the end zone and Cirino turned the tide of the game. Karelis ran for 93 yards on nine carries splitting time at QB with Bryant Isaac, Jr. who threw a 20-yard TD pass to Kymore Monroe on the first play from scrimmage.

Washington Twp. 42 Cherry Hill East 13 | West Jersey Football League
The Minutemen trailed 6-0 after one, but rattled off the next 42 points to secure their 20th consecutive win dating back to last season. Jalen Parker and Isaac Parra powered the way as the senior duo connected for four touchdowns through the air in the victory. Gabe Palaganas and Anthony Forte added touchdowns for Washington Township (6-0). Josh Greenberg scored a touchdown in the loss for Cherry Hill East (0-6).

Northern Burlington 31 Princeton 7 | West Jersey Football League
Down 7-0 early in the first quarter, Northern Burlington (5-1) responded with 31 unanswered points to earn a victory over Princeton (3-3). Brent Walulak continued to show why he is one of the more impressive dual-threat quarterbacks in the state, throwing for 147 yards and a touchdown while adding 56 rushing yards and another score on the ground. The Marist baseball commit has now totaled 1,224 yards and 16 touchdowns this season without throwing an interception.

Waldwick/Midland Park 42 Pompton Lakes 7 | NJIC
The Waldwick/Midland Park Warriors (5-1) kept their impressive season rolling Thursday night, routing Pompton Lakes (3-3) in an NJIC showdown! The Warriors controlled the game with a physical ground attack, led by Aidan Maher, who scored three touchdowns, while EJ Cozzupoli and Luciano Mayer each added a rushing score.

Chance Joseph had three touchdowns including a 61 yard punt return and Ryan Fitzpatrick had 10 carries for 106 yards and two scores on the ground to help the Bengals reach 6-0 for the first time since 2013.
