A long and jam-packed Week One comes to a close with a pair of thrilling games at the Rumble on the Raritan showcase, headquartered at Rutgers University. We’ve got a pair of thrilling games: a North Jersey vs. South Jersey showdown plus a battle of two next-level WJFL teams going at it. 


Camden 28 Salem 21 | Rumble on the Raritan

Camden (1-1) defeated Salem (1-1) 28-21 to get their first win of the season. The High fell behind 21-14 at halftime, sophomore quarterback Deante Ruffin with two second half touchdowns would give Camden the lead with 7:24 left in regulation. Two late interceptions would allow them to hang on for the victory as Camden alumni Rob Hinson got his first win as Head Coach of the program. Ruffin finished with 351 total yards, three rushing touchdowns and a passing score.

Wayne Valley 28 Lenape 25 | Rumble on the Raritan

Call this game the “Wayne Valley Rally.” The Indians (of North Jersey) erased a 12-point halftime deficit with three touchdowns in the second half to take the lead and lock up the win. Down by 4 points with 3:06 left in regulation, Valley QB Alex Scheuplein orchestrated a game-winning 74-yard drive to retake the lead late in the game.
