Wet weather on Saturday pushed a number of county championship games back to Sunday. We have coverage from the GNT, GMC and Shore Conference finals to close out the week. Enjoy the highlights as they roll in!

RBC 2 Ranney 0 | Shore Conference Tournament Final

Alex Stanyek threw a 2-hitter in 6.2 innings of shutout ball with 11 strikeouts and Ethan Marzo came on in relief to close the door with a strikeout to give Red Bank Catholic a fourth consecutive Shore Conference Tournament title, the first school to accomplish that feat.  Dylan Passon and Matt Brunner had back-to-back RBI doubles in the top of the sixth to give the Caseys the lead.  Coach Buddy Hausmann won his 300th career game as RBC avenged a loss to the top ranked team in NJ in the Monmouth County championship and ending Ranney’s 19-game win streak.

Echavarria, the Florida commit, struck out six batters and needed only 89 pitches to work the win for top-seeded Millburn (23-3). Millburn’s offense woke up in the fourth inning when Ethan Axelrod smashed a two-run single, giving the Millers a lead they would hold the rest of the way. Elijah Foster struck out eight batters over four innings of work in the loss for second-seeded Seton Hall Prep (12-10-1).

The Falcons struck first off a solo home run in the top of the fourth from senior Tyler Delvecchio, Will Ramsay would add an RBI in the top of the seventh for St. Joe’s. Pitching dominated the day as Rutgers commit Zach Konstantinovsky finished with five hits allowed, one earned run and nine strikeouts for North Brunswick.
