The high school basketball season comes to a close with the final four state championship games of the season. Check out all the action from the Group 2 and Group 4 state finals!

Plainfield 65 Montgomery 48 | Boys | Group 4 State Championship

The Cardinals are arguably New Jersey’s most exciting team and they will also close out the season on top of the state rankings. Plainfield (29-3) got a game-high 24-points out from star sophomore Micah Gordon along with NaJai Hines’ 18 points and 16 rebounds in the win. Montgomery (26-6) got a 20-point performance from Ethan Lin in the loss.

Manasquan 67 Madison 56 | Boys | Group 2 State Championship

Griffin Linstra was sensational in his final high school game with 21 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists and Brandon Kunz dropped five three-pointers for 15 points to give Manasquan its second state title in the last three years.  The Warriors were in the national headlines a year ago after a buzzer beater against Camden was overturned in the state semifinals.  One year later, Linstra scored the game winning basket in the closing seconds to beat Camden and took the next step to win a state title.

Manasquan 47 Madison 34 | Girls | Group 2 State Championship

Manasquan had three players in double digits led by Shea Donnelly’s 12 along with Grave Love and Olivia Shaughnessy each scoring 10 to give the Warriors a second straight state championship and three in the last four years.  The Warriors (25-5) have won eight state titles during Lisa Kukoda’s 13 years as head coach.  Madison (25-6) was led by Charlotte Tuhy who had 25 points and 13 rebounds.

Hillsborough 55 West Orange 52 | Girls Group 4 State Championship

In what could have been the girls basketball game of the year, Hillsborough (26-6) took advantage of West Orange’s (26-8) foul trouble to win their 1st state title. This bout saw a 12-0 run, a buzzer beater, and one of the coldest quotes you’ll hear! Hillsborough seniors Francesca Schiro and Mya Loniewski end their incredible high school careers combining for 33 of Boro’s 55 points. Schiro finishes with 2,106 career points and will continue her playing career at Siena College.
