On the final day of the 2025 soccer season, four girls’ public-school teams stormed to state titles at Franklin High School. Stay tuned as the highlights pour in throughout the night!
Chatham 3 Shawnee 2 (2OT) | Group 3 State Final
Alex Donoghue crashed the net to finish a fantastic service from Lucy Arps on a corner kick with 5:03 remaining in double overtime to give the Cougars a second state championship in the last three years. The Cougars trailed 2-1 when Arps delivered another corner kick to Rutgers commit Amanda Thornton to tie the game 2-2 in the 73rd minute. Shawnee got goals from Caitlin Olkowski and Maddie Zaun. Arps scored Chatham’s first goal and finished with a goal and two assists. Chatham (19-5-1) won a fifth straight Morris County title and ended the year with a state title. Shawnee’s excellent season comes to an end with a 21-3 record.

Livingston 1 Cherokee 1 (Lancers win 3-1 in PK’s) | Group 4 State Final
Ayla Sherman made a clutch save, while the Lancers went a perfect three-for-three in PKs to bring home the first state championship in program history. Sherman was tremendous in net for the Lancers as she racked up ten saves during the 100 minute battle in regulation and overtime. Rutgers commit Dina Bojkovic netted her 39th goal and picked up her 90th point of the year for Livingston (20-3-1). High Point commit Abbie Zubrzycki leveled the match with her 20th goal of the season for Cherokee (18-6-1).

Ramsey 3 Allentown 0 | Group 2 State Final
Ramsey (25-0) delivered as complete a season as a team can have. The Rams capped their perfect run with their second Group 2 state title in three years. They set the tone immediately, striking twice in the first two minutes with goals from top scorers Hope Ernst and Kendall Reid. Lizzie Rubin added a beautiful finish to close out the scoring, giving Ramsey three goals within the opening twenty minutes. With the victory, the Rams secure the fifth state championship in program history, defeating an Allentown (21-4-1) squad that featured just one senior starter.
