Union Catholic 58 Hudson Catholic 49 – SFIC Festival
Union Catholic defeated No. 11 Hudson Catholic in a thrilling upset victory. After trailing in the first quarter the Vikings fought back to take a 27-26 lead at halftime. They opened the third quarter with a pair of dunks from Nashon Battle and Gio Phillips and eventually led 40-38 entering the fourth. UC was led by Jaheim Tanksley who finished with 21 points. St. Benedict’s Prep 72 Montclair Immaculate 70 (OT) – SFIC Festival
Barra Njie, C.J. Wilcher and Supreme Cook all scored in double digit for St. Benedict’s Prep to help drive a nail biting overtime win over Montclair Immaculate. The Gray Bees led by seven in the second half, but the Lions forced overtime. St. Benedict’s Prep weathered through the overtime period – and a late push by MI – to lock up the win. St. Mary’s-Elizabeth 63 Seton Hall Prep 51 – SFIC Festival
The Hilltoppers raced out to a 20-9 lead after one quarter and held off a Pirates comeback to improve to 8-1 on the season. A big second quarter gave Seton Hall Prep a 32-31 halftime lead, but St. Mary’s poured it on in the second half. Phil Brown led the way with 16. JSZ has the highlights from Kean University:
Elizabeth 78 Hackettstown 44 – Hoops For Hope Showcase
Jesiah West, Brenden Kelly and Abdul Shanunu all scored in the double digits for Elizabeth on Sunday night. West scored the game-high 22 points and slam dunked twice multiple times during the showcase game against Hackettstown. Kelly scored the second highest number of points with 18.
