Ramsey 41 Bergenfield 14

The Rams came charging out for the lone Saturday afternoon matchup of the 2022 regular season and did not disappoint. Luca Gemma logged a pair of touchdowns and made game-changing plays on offense, defense and special teams to help Ramsey (3-0) capture the win. Robert Fuerst tallied three touchdown passes, two to Dillon Kelly, to round out a great day for the offense. Bergenfield (0-3) had a two-touchdown performance from Gabe Perez.

Hopewell Valley 54 Hamilton West 19

Hopewell Valley begins the 2022 season 3-0 following a dominant 54-19 victory over WJFL Capitol Division rival Hamilton West. Senior Tim McKeown launched four first half touchdowns to sophomore receiver Justin Klotz to give the Bulldogs a 33-6 lead at the break. The duo would link up for two more scores in the second half, breaking a program record.

Woodbury 46 Paulsboro 8

The Thundering Herd dominated in one of South Jersey’s oldest rivalry games. Anthony Reagan Jr. rushed for a pair of touchdowns, while Bryan Johnson threw for two TDs and run for a score in the win for Woodbury (4-0). Sharif Green had a TD catch for the Red Raiders (0-3) in the loss.

Audubon 29 Gloucester 23

The Green Wave found themselves down 20-0 in the second quarter and battled all the way back to pick up its first win of the season. Scott Lynch and Amauri Pimentel connected for three touchdowns on the day, including the game-winning TD in the final seconds of regulation. Zach Beebe hauled in a touchdown catch in the win for Audubon (1-2). Jake Zearfoss rushed for three touchdowns in the loss for Gloucester (3-1).

South River 31 Bound Brook 0

Darius Armstrong had a TD run and TD catch on a hook and lateral and Joseph Lepore had a pick-six TD and TD catch to give South River a win on the day the Rams honored Pro Football Hall of Famer Drew Pearson with a street name dedication (watch that feature Sunday on JSZ-TV on WLNY!).
