Roxbury 6 Steinert 4 | Group 3 State Final

The Gaels jumped out to an early five-run lead and hung on late to end a 30-year wait for a state championship. Jayden Pennella, Maddy Svenningsen, and Hailey Errichiello each finished with two RBIs in the win for Roxbury (24-4). Errichiello also racked up 15 strikeouts and picked up a complete game win in the circle. Katie Simonka drove in two runs in the loss for Steinert (21-5).

Watchung Hills 2 Egg Harbor Twp. 1 (9 innings) | Group 4 State Final

Ella Stevinson crushed a walk-off homer over the tall fence in left field at Seton Hall University to give the Warriors a state championship. Egg Harbor took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 6th on a Sofia Spotacco RBI double. Watchung Hills answered in the bottom of the frame with a sacrifice fly to tie the game. Juliana Raymond had 12 strikeouts for Watchung Hills to set the stage for Stevinson’s heroics. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights and post-game interviews from Ivy Hill Park:
