Simply put, Jack Leiter was that close to a perfect game. The Vanderbilt-commit and 2019 MLB Draft prospect pitched a perfect 6 2/3 innings with a staggering 14 strikeouts to guide Delbarton to its sixth overall Morris County crown. No. 13 Notre Dame 8 Lawrence 0 – Mercer County semifinal
No. 13 in the NJ Top 20 and third seed Notre Dame advanced to the Mercer County Tournament championship game for the first time since 2015 with an 8-0 victory over tenth seeded Lawrence. The Irish kicked things off with a three run second inning that included West Point commit Robbie Buecker knocking in an RBI to get his 100th career hit. In the third inning ND repeated as Dan DiUbaldi drove in two more runs to put him at three total on the afternoon. Pitcher Steve Graver got it done for Notre Dame on the hill allowing just two hits and collected three strikeouts. They advance to the final on May 14th at Arm & Hammer Park in Trenton. No. 19 Haddonfield 8 Eastern 5 – Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic semifinal
The eighth-seeded Haddons started the day with an upset win over Cherry Hill West in the quarterfinals, before knocking off the defending champion Vikings in the semifinals. Steve DiTomaso had two triples and two RBIs in the victory. Chris Mariani delivered the go-ahead RBI single for Haddonfield in the top of the seventh inning. JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the highlights, as the Haddons advance to face Shawnee in the Diamond Classic title game:
