Rumson-Fair Haven 10 St. Augustine 9 (2OT) | Boys
Leo Passalaqua scored the Bulldogs final three goals including the game-winner in double overtime to give RFH a 3-0 start to the season and a win over the defending Non-Public state champions. Passalaqua scored a pair of goals in the fourth quarter to give Rumson a 9-8 lead before the Hermits Matt Raucci tied the game with 1:15 left in the fourth quarter. Following no scoring in the first four minute OT, RFH won the draw to start the second OT setting the stage for Passalaqua’s heroics.

Seton Hall Prep 9 Chatham 6 | Boys
No. 1 Seton Hall Prep got their first win of the 2024 lacrosse season following a close 9-6 victory over No. 16 Chatham. The Pirates coming off an 0-2 start to Florida opponents got to work quickly to take a 3-0 lead after the first. They extended their deficit to 6-3 entering halftime, but Chatham kept the game close through out the second half and Kyle Gibney’s second goal of the game cut the score to 8-6 midway through the fourth period. However, good defense from Prep and a late score from Nolan Sabel with 44 seconds remaining would keep the game out of reach for the Cougars. Sabel finished with one goal and four assists while Dartmouth commit Tyler Juhlin led the way with three goals and an assist for a hat trick. Luke Knezovic also had two goals and an assist for Seton Hall Prep.
