Four more state champions were crowned at Rutgers University on Saturday as JSZ brings you wall-to-wall coverage from all four boys public state finals. Check back throughout the night as the highlights are posted!


Paterson Eastside 52 Egg Harbor Twp. 45 | Boys | Group 4 State Final

Paterson Eastside claimed its first Group 4 Championship since 2015 with a 52-45 win over Egg Harbor Township. Great defense headlined the back and forth contest as Eastside held onto a tight 28-24 lead at halftime. The Ghosts stayed ahead by four late in regulation and held the ball in the final two minutes, forcing EHT to foul which would seal the victory for Head Coach and Rutgers Basketball legend Marquis Webb for a satisfying homecoming. Jaheim Best finished with 17 points for Eastside.

Manasquan 62 Caldwell 29 | Boys | Group 2 State Final

Manasquan claimed its first Group 2 State Championship in program history with a dominating 62-29 win over Caldwell. The Warriors jumped out to a 25-13 lead at halftime and went up by 30 in the third quarter. Sophomore Darius Adams finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Woodbury 70 Newark Tech 62 | Boys | Group 1 State Final

The Thundering Herd fended off a late rally from the Terriers to secure their first state championship since 2018. New Haven football commit JaBron Solomon and CJ Miller each scored a game-high 20 points in the win for Woodbury (24-6). Tyshawn Boyd posted a 20 point, 11 rebound double-double in the loss for Newark Tech (22-7). The Thundering Herd also become the first public school in state history to win state titles in football and boys basketball in the same school year.

Ramapo 55 Nottingham 42 | Boys | Group 3 State Final

After falling short in the state final a year ago, the Raiders secured their first state championship with a convincing victory over the Northstars. Chris Cervino poured in a game-high 19 points to lead a balanced attack from Ramapo (30-3). Peyton Seals chipped in with 16 points and ten rebounds in the victory. JP Dickerson scored a team-high 13 points for Nottingham (22-9).
