County and league tournament titles were up for grabs all over the Garden State on Saturday! Check back throughout the night as the highlights roll in!


Roselle Catholic 65 Plainfield 63 | Boys | Union County Tournament Final

No. 5 Roselle Catholic boys basketball faced No. 6 Plainfield on Saturday for the Union County Tournament crown. It had all the making of an all-time classic, and it more than delivered with the Lions winning 65-63 in the most thrilling of fashions.

Tied at 63 with under 10 seconds remaining, Roselle Catholic freshman Holland Johnson stole a loose ball and tossed it downcourt to Trey Lewis. Lewis went up for a layup, missed, but got his own rebound and the ensuing reverse layup went around the rim and in! The thrilling finish gave the Lions their 2nd UCT title in four years.

Lewis was the Lions’ (20-6) leading scorer with 22 points. Star recruit Micah Gordon was the high scorer for Plainfield (20-5) with 20.

Gill St. Bernard’s 84 Rutgers Prep 73 | Boys | Somerset County Tournament Final

Jahmal Dixon led four Knights in double figures with 24 points, six rebounds and six assists as GSB (24-2) won their 20th straight game and a second straight Somerset County title.  Connor Junker had 20, Dorsett Mulcahy added 18 and Prosper Sankoua contributed 14.  Rutgers Prep (16-9) was paced by Nicolas Nsenkyire’s 25 points with Will Brunson catching fire in the third on the way to 24 points.  It’s the Knights third victory over the Argonauts this season.

Seton Hall Prep 68 St. Benedict’s Prep 63 | Boys | Essex County Tournament Final

Infinite Sincere-Amen Ra had 22 points and Anthony Gonzalez stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists to give the Pirates a second straight Essex County title and 21st overall in school history.

Atlantic City 62 Ocean City 61 | Boys | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament Final

The fifth-seeded Vikings trailed most of the day, but surged ahead down the stretch to capture their first CAL Tournament title since 2013. Don’Taye Thompson paced AC (18-9) with a game-high 24 points in the win. Chris Pontari scored a team-high 15 points off the bench for the second-seeded Red Raiders (20-6) in the loss.

Trenton 83 Notre Dame 48 | Boys | Colonial Valley Conference Tournament Final

The Tornadoes led by two after the first quarter before erupting in the second, outscoring the Irish 30-5 and never looking back. Juan Sanchez took home MVP honors with a game-high 31 points, while Aivaye Ingram poured in 26. Second-seeded Trenton (20-7) ended the underdog run of twelfth-seeded Notre Dame (7-21) and recorded its first 20-win season since 2023.

Princeton 57 Notre Dame 52 | Girls | Colonial Valley Conference Tournament Final

For the first time in program history, Princeton (19-7) has won a conference/county tournament title. Anna Winters earned the game’s MVP honors, leading the Tigers with a game-high 25 points, eight assists, and five steals. As the No. 2 seed, Princeton secured one of the biggest victories in program history with the win over last year’s CVC champions, No. 5 seed Notre Dame (14-9).

Middle Twp. 42 Wildwood Catholic 35 | Girls | Cape-Atlantic League Tournament Final

The top-seeded Panthers won their second straight CAL Tournament title thanks to 16 points from Mya Robinson and 13 points from Reagen Powell. Powell also had 12 rebounds in the win for Middle (23-4). Damiya Carter scored 13 points for the third-seeded Crusaders (19-8) in the loss.
