St. Thomas Aquinas 65 Gill St. Bernard’s 61

The Trojans were looking for a marquis regular season win and they found Saturday night in Roselle. Adam Silas dropped a career-high 33 points to propel St. Thomas Aquinas (22-2) to a rousing win against Gill St. Bernard’s (13-6). The Knights were shorthanded – neither Denver Anglin nor Naas Cunningham were in the lineup – but Mackenzie Mgbako still delivered an impressive 26-point, 13-rebound double-double in the loss.

Hudson Catholic 80 St. Joseph (Met.) 67

Hudson Catholic (17-2) defeated St. Joseph (Metuchen) (17-5) 80-67 to capture an eighth straight win. Following a tightly contested first quarter, Aaron Davis and Elijah Gertrude gave Hudson Catholic a 42-37 lead at halftime that allowed the Hawks to set the tone and stay ahead double digits throughout the contest. Gertrude finished with 22 points, Davis had 16 and sophomore Tahaad Pettiford ended the night with 17 points. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:


Roselle Catholic 85 Linden 42

Jamarques Lawrence and Akil Watson had 15 points apiece and Simeon Wilcher had 11 points and eight assists as the Lions (19-2) jumped out to a 25-3 run to start the game on the way to a convincing win in RC’s final regular-season home game. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Roselle:
