It’s state section final Saturday in New Jersey boys high school soccer. We’ve got some great action around the state!


Kearny 2 Clifton 1 (OT) | Boys | North 1 Group 4 Final

Benji Silva’s golden goal 66 seconds into overtime brought the Kardinals their second sectional title in three seasons. Third-seeded Kearny (16-4) showed and top-seeded Clifton (15-2-1) were two of the top public school programs in the state this season and this sectional final matchup was highly anticipated. Kearny will host Westfield in the Group 4 state semifinal next week.

Holmdel 1 Manasquan 0 | Boys | Central Jersey Group 2 Final

Frankie Brusco’s goal in the 73rd minute gave the Hornets a second straight sectional championship.  The Hornets (16-2-1) are on a 10 game win streak and recovered from missing the Shore Conference Tournament after being eliminated in the World Cup-style format before the knockout rounds.

Washington Twp. 3 Toms River North 0 | Boys | South Jersey Group 4 Final

Ajani Dwyer scored a pair of goals to power the top-seeded Minutemen to their first sectional title since 2018. Mark Simmons netted a goal on a PK in the victory as Washington Township (18-1-2) brought home its eighth sectional title overall. Mike Vivilo had a pair of saves in the loss for Toms River North (15-4), which had to play with 10 men for much of the contest after a red card in the 27th minute.
