Piscataway 20 Bayonne 7 | North 1 Group 5 Quarterfinal

Zaire Young had 141 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns to reach 22 for the season and the Piscataway defense produced four turnovers to give the Chiefs (8-2) a spot in the section semifinals and a trip to second seed West Orange.  Young ran a fake punt on the opening drive to set up his first score from short range.  Landon Pernell connected with Colby Cotton on a 32-yard score followed by Young’s second TD to make it a 20-0 game.  Bayonne got a late second quarter TD pass as Talon Carr and Drew Haynes found the end zone from 25 yards out to make it 20-7 but there would be no scoring in the second half and the Bees finish the year 6-4.  Piscataway was eliminated by Bayonne in last year’s state playoffs – the Chiefs turned the tables one year later.
