Scotch Plains-Fanwood 2 Plainfield 1 | Union County Tournament | Boys

Bradley Pearce delivered the game-winner with under five minutes left as Scotch Plains-Fanwood survived a scare from Plainfield 2-1 in the Union County Tournament quarterfinals. Freshman Cain Lambert opened the scoring before Ugochukwu Uzoechina equalized for the Cardinals, but Pearce’s late strike sent the Raiders into the semifinals as they continue their bid to defend the county title.

Ramapo 5 Mahwah 1 | Bergen County Tournament | Boys

The Raiders battled through a slow start to rip off five second-half goals and punch their ticket to the county semifinals. James Fitzmaurice and Julian Cuttita caught fire for second-seeded Ramapo (11-1) after the break, scoring two goals each in the rally. Tenth-seeded Mahwah (10-3) played a really tough first half and kept the Raiders in check thanks to a goal from Alejandro Parapi. Ramapo will face Tenafly in the BCT semifinals next week.
