Rutgers Prep 68 Notre Dame 50 | Boys Basketball

No. 18 in the NJ Top 20 Rutgers Prep picked up its second win a row after a three-point filled battle with Notre Dame. Tied at 24-24 heading into halftime the Argonauts came alive late in the third quarter to grab a 52-40 lead. Trey Patterson and Jonah Charles both finished with 21 points in the victory. Rumson-Fair Haven 62 Saint Rose 40 | Boys Basketball

Ian O’Connor had 21 points and five different Bulldogs combined on 15-three pointers to get to 5-1 on the season. JSZ has the highlights of the long range shooting display in Rumson on Saturday afternoon:

Jackson Memorial 63 Jackson Liberty 50 | Boys Basketball

Brothers Matt and Rob Mahala combined for 31 points to power Jackson Memorial (4-4) to a double-digit win against crosstown team Jackson Liberty. The Jags also had great efforts from Jayson Lee (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Micah Wallace (16 points). Jackson Liberty was powered by their top player, Daniel Sofield, who dropped in a game-high 36 points. JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights:

St. Joe-Hammonton 55 Rancocas Valley 38 | Boys Basketball | Seagull Classic

Ian Brown scored 16 points to lead St. Joe-Hammonton to its seventh straight win in 2018-19. SNJ Today’s Mike Frankel has the highlights from the Seagull Classic at Holy Spirit High


Gloucester Catholic 60 Mainland 58 (OT) | Girls Basketball | Seagull Classic

Sophomore Jada Williams made two free throws with 4.4 seconds left in overtime as the Rams rallied from 10 points down in the second half to improve to 8-1 on the season. The game featured two of the top prospects in New Jersey. Mainland’s Kylee Watson led all scorers with 25 points for Mainland while Duke commit Azana Baines had 13 points for the Rams. Summit 37 Dayton 26 | Girls Basketball

Summit defeated Dayton 37-26 on Saturday afternoon, improving their overall record to 6-2. Olivia Lawlor scored the game-high 14 points, and Annabella Yorio scored 12 points. JSZ’s Madison Bess was in Summit with the highlights:

Summit 49 Phillipsburg 44 | Boys Basketball

The Summit Hilltoppers improved their overall record to 6-1 after defeating the Phillipsburg Stateliners on Saturday. Malcolm Sidebottom scored the most points for the Hilltoppers with 13. Despite Phillipsburg’s loss, Richard Manigault scored the game-high 21 points. JSZ’s Madison Bess was in Summit with the full story and a post-game reaction from Sidebottom:
