Bergen Catholic 3 Don Bosco Prep 2 (2OT)

After overcoming a 2-0 deficit and a red card to put them a man down, Bergen Catholic’s Nick Shannon delivered one of the biggest goals of the early 2019 season with a Golden Goal to beat Don Bosco Prep in double overtime. Shannon assisted on the two previous Crusaders goals.

Kingsway 3 Triton 1

The Dragons handed the Mustangs their first loss of the season in a key early-season showdown in the Tri-County Conference. After a scoreless first half, Kingsway pumped in three goals after the break. Sean Fatiga scored a pair of goals, with Quinn Roche also finding the back of the net for the Dragons. Tyler Guandagno scored a late goal for Triton in the loss.

Holmdel 7 Shore Regional 1

The Hornets scored four goals in the first 31 minutes to improve to 3-0 on the young season. Holmdel has won back to back state championships and is off to a great start in a quest for a three-peat. Watch JSZ’s highlights now:

Hunterdon Central 3 Pennington 2

Hunterdon Central pulled off the first major upset of the 2019 boys soccer season and it’s only September. The Red Devils defeated Prep A State Champion Runner-ups Pennington 3-2 Monday afternoon. The Red Raiders would take a 1-0 lead at halftime before Hunterdon Central tied the game to begin the second act. Elias Simpkins shined bright with two goals to help the Red Devils knock off one of the best teams in New Jersey. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:
