Two-time defending champion Tri-Cape dug out of an early hole to book a trip to its third-straight Carpenter Cup title game. Highland’s Robert Carfagno belted the go-ahead two-run home run, while Vineland’s Yenuelle Rodriguez had a two RBI double in the win. St. Augustine’s CJ Furey was fantastic out of the bullpen, tossing three shutout innings with six strikeouts. Tri-Cape will look to finish the three-peat in an all-NJ final against Jersey Shore on Tuesday.

Jersey Shore 9 Olympic-Colonial 4

Jersey Shore advances to the The Carpenter Cup Classic Final with a 9-4 win over Olympic-Colonial. Jersey Shore fell behind 4-2 in the third inning when a two run home run from Donovan Catholic’s Gavin Degnan tied the game at 4-4, Shore would add two more runs in the inning. Red Bank Regional’s Nathan Ruth got the win on the mound as he exited in the sixth inning after allowing four hits, no earned runs and five strike outs. Jersey Shore will take on Tri-Cape in the Championship.
