We’ve reached the home stretch of the high school lacrosse season as JSZ brings you three sectional quarterfinal matchups in the boys public state tournament. Check back as the highlights are posted throughout the night!


Jefferson 9 Glen Rock 6 | Boys | North Group 1 Quarterfinal

Calen “Chubb” Reid’s historic senior season has helped the Falcons push the furthest they’ve been in the state playoffs in well over a decade. With a seven point game Monday, Reid scored his 401st career point – he’s now just the ninth player in New Jersey history to eclipse 400 points. Reid broke the state’s all-time assist record earlier this year and is closing in on the single season assist record as he now sits at 91 assists this spring. Matty Leppard had four goals for sixth-seeded Jefferson (15-7) in the upset win. Will Corry had four goals in the loss for third-seeded Glen Rock (9-8). Jefferson will go back on the road Thursday to face Ramsey in the sectional semifinal.

Mainland 19 Clearview 10 | Boys | South Group 3 Quarterfinal

The Mustangs put the pedal down on offense, exploding for a season-high 19 goals to score its first win against the Pioneers and reach the sectional semifinals for the first time since 2018. Harrison LaMonaca, Joey Eyde, and Liam Kennedy each finished with four goals to lead the way in the victory. Luke Hall added a hat trick in the victory for fourth-seeded Mainland (16-6). Jake Crouthamel posted a hat trick, while TJ Mills, Brian McKeever, and Cole Mazzarella netted a pair of goals for fifth-seeded Clearview (12-4). Mainland advances to face top-seeded Moorestown on Thursday.

Ocean City 12 Barnegat 5 | Boys | South Group 2 Quarterfinal

Otter Donohue scored the first five goals of the game as the third-seeded Red Raiders built a big early lead and never looked back. Jack Scherbin added three goals for OC (11-9), which moves on to face second-seeded Wall in the sectional semifinals. Jakob Jason and Stephen Griffin both scored for the Bengals (18-4) in the loss.
