Division and conference titles are on the line to kick off the sixth week of the high school baseball season. We take a trip down to Mercer County as Lawrence and Hightstown duke it out for top honors in the CVC while Wall looks to capture a division championship in the Shore Conference. Watch all the highlights as they roll in!

Lawrence 2 Hightstown 1

The Cardinals used a late sixth-inning rally to pull in front of the Rams and secure the top ranking in the Colonial Valley Conference. Drew Dobkin’s two-out, two-run single in that big sixth inning gave Lawrence (18-2) the boost they needed for the win. Aiden Poot pitched 6.1 innings and struck out a career-high 11 batters to get the win. Hightstown (10-4) fought hard and even had the Cardinals no-hit through four innings. Both teams will earn high seeds in the upcoming Mercer County Tournament.

Wall 2 Holmdel 0

Christian Suarez pitched a complete game 2-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to give the Crimson Knights the Shore Conference’s “A” Division title.  Suarez has now pitched 20.2 consecutive shutout innings.  Dane Rue’s 2-run double in the fourth was the only offense of the game as Holmdel starter Luke Buda was outstanding striking out nine over six innings.
