Governor Livingston 10 Westfield 8 | Union County Tournament Final
A wild, 15-run seventh inning produced loads of fireworks as the UCT championship went down to the wire. Second-seeded Gov. Livingston (19-3) led 3-0 going into the seventh and then plated seven runs. Top-seeded Westfield (16-4) then responded by scoring eight runs in the bottom half of the inning, before GL’s Anthony DeNora got the final out with the game-winning run at the plate. The Highlanders led for most of the game thanks to junior ace Matty Diskin, who struck out 11 batters over six innings of work. Zach Geertsma had 2 RBI and a triple in the win.
