CBA 9 Morris Knolls 2

The Colts’ stifling defense doused the red-hot Golden Eagles Monday afternoon. After coming out of the first quarter with a lead, Morris Knolls (7-1) didn’t score again, going the final 41 and a half minutes of regulation without a goal. That is a true testament to how well CBA (6-3) executed their defensive gameplan. Ryan Martin led the way for the Colts with four goals and an assist in the win.

Holmdel 10 Southern 5

Gary Collyer had four goals and an assist and Will Gilfillan had two goals and five assists for a seven point game as the Hornets dominated the fourth quarter to score a quality Shore Conference win.  The Hornets trailed 3-0 in the first half before Matt Tempone’s stick check forced a turnover that saw him run transition which resulted in Finnegan Buchan scoring in the final minute to get the Hornets on the board.   The game was tied 4-4 at the end of three.  Liam Griffin’s second goal of the game for Southern tied the game at five but Holmdel was able to score the final five goals of the game to put the game away.
