It’s Super Week and JSZ has two super matchups on the ice for you to start it off! At the Shore, Brick and Middletown North do battle in the Handchen Cup quarterfinals. Also, No. 2 Princeton Day girls faces No. 4 Kent Place at the RWJ Barnabas Hockey House in Newark! Stay tuned as highlights come in throughout the night.


Brick 4 Middletown North 3 (OT) | Boys | Handchen Cup

Brody Acropolis scored off a feed from Conner Kelly 7:16 into overtime to give the #8 seed an upset win over the top seed.  Brick scored back to back goals :30 apart to take a 2-0 lead at the end of one.  Acropolis fed Kelly to make it 3-0 just nine seconds into the second period.  Middletown North rallied with two goals in the second and Brendan Costello tied the game 3-3 in the third period.  With the win, Brick will take on #5 seed Marlboro-Holmdel in the Handchen Cup semifinals next week.

Princeton Day 4 Kent Place 3 | Girls |

After losing a close one to now-No. 1 Morristown-Beard last week, No. 2 Princeton Day girls hockey has bounced back with, now,  two straight wins over top-5 opponents. Their latest, a 4-3 comeback win over No. 4 Kent Place on Monday!

Leading 1-0 after the first period after a Layla Sosner goal, a wild second period ensued with the Dragons scoring 3 goals and taking a 3-2 lead heading into the final frame. With 7:30 left, the Panthers’ Della Gilligan scored the game-tying goal, followed by Alexis Moslin’s second goal of the game to take the lead with just over 6:00 remaining.

Princeton Day now improves to 9-2 on the year, while Kent Place falls to 6-6.
