West Morris 3 Park Regional 2 | Haas Cup Final

What a way to kick off this week’s extensive hockey cup final coverage. Michael Ferry delivered the game-winning goal in overtime to help West Morris (8-8-4) win their second-straight Haas Cup. Benjamin Barnhill had a second period goal while Tommy Togno’s goal late in the third period helped even the game at 2-2. Park Regional (9-10-3) got goals from Stanley Gellman and Andrew Steinberg in the loss.

CBA 5 Bergen Catholic 1 | Gordon Cup Semifinal

Leighton Biesiadecki and freshman Anthony Brereton each had a pair of goals and the Colts used a four-goal second period to return to the Gordon Cup final.  Biesiadecki scored late in the first period to make it a 1-0 game.  Brereton and Biesiadecki scored goals 45 seconds apart to make it a 3-0 game.  Brereton and Patrick Reilly closed out the second period with power-play goals.  CBA will face the winner of Delbarton and Gloucester Catholic on Thursday in the Gordon Cup final.

Hopewell Valley 3 Robbinsville 1 | Mercer County Semifinal

(4) Hopewell Valley (13-9-1) defeated (1) Robbinsville (12-7-2) to advance to the Mercer County Tournament Final. Robbinsville went ahead first in the second period off a goal from Zach Duggan. Later in the period Dylan Yasher and Logan Camilleri both scored on assists from Matthew Greenspoon to put the Bulldogs ahead 2-1. Following a self goal in the third, goalie Blake Echternacnt did not allow another score as he ended the afternoon with 27 saves.

St. John Vianney 6 Brick 1 | Handchen Cup Semifinal

Nick Kasich scored a pair of goals to lead the Lancers to the finals of the Handchen Cup in a game that took three days to complete.  The Lancers had a 4-1 lead at the end of two periods on Friday at the Ocean Ice Palace when there was an ice issue during the ice cut.  The game was suspended and resumed two days later on Sunday morning when SJV scored a pair of goals in the third period.  St. John Vianney will face the winner of Middletown North and Manasquan for the Handchen Cup final.
