We kick off the new week with a trio of big games! St. Joe’s (Mont.) and Morristown-Beard meet in a matchup of Top 5 teams in the state, Seton Hall Prep goes down to South Jersey and takes care of business in the Gordon Conference and Middletown North tussles with Rumson-Fair Haven. St. Joe’s (Mont.) 1 Morristown-Beard 0 | Non-Conference

Logan Hughes’ clutch goal with 0.7 seconds on the clock in the second period was the lone score in a massive showdown between two of the hottest teams in the Garden State. St. Joe’s Mont. (9-3) also got a great performance from goalie Gabe Florio, who logged his fourth shutout of the season. For Morristown-Beard (9-1-1), it’s their first loss of the season. Talented sophomore goalie Mason Hriczov made 33 saves in the loss.

Seton Hall Prep 5 Gloucester Catholic 3 | Gordon Conference

Matt Smith had a hat trick to lead the Pirates to a fourth straight win and an impressive 5-1 mark in Gordon Conference play.  Smith scored the first two goals of the game before Gloucester Catholic rallied to tie the game 2-2.  Christian Jaworski and Dylan Mesler scored back to back goals to give Seton Hall Prep a 4-2 lead at the end of two.  Smith’s third goal of the game closed out the win for the Pirates who improve to 9-4 on the season.

Middletown North 4 Rumson-Fair Haven 1 | Shore Conference

Greg Bonczek and Landon Hopwood scored 1:06 apart in the second period to open up a 3-0 lead and the Lions won their sixth straight Shore Conference game.  Lucas Laranjeiro opened the scoring for Middletown North with Caden Kirk adding an empty netter as part of a three point night.  Matteo Darcy was the lone goal scorer for RFH.
