Bryce Mangene threw three touchdown passes including a pair of second-half scores to Cerrome Hill and a Hail Mary to Jahmier Washington to end the first half as RV avenged a loss to their rival in the South Jersey Group 5 finals.  JSZ has the highlights from a Saturday thriller with post-game reaction from Madison Bess:

Bergen Catholic 42 Paramus Catholic 0

Junior signal-caller Andrew Boel was automatic Saturday, completing 13 of 17 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns to lead Bergen Catholic to a blowout win in Oradell. Tyler Devera, Garrett Cody and Pierson Tobia all caught touchdowns while Anthony Corbin and Rahmir Johnson scored on the ground. JSZ’s Jay Cook has highlights from the win:

Notre Dame 35 Nottingham 14

A hyped Mercer County meeting between two 5-1 teams was the headline in Hamilton Saturday afternoon. The first half of Notre Dame and Nottingham was a close, hard-hitting matchup that saw the Irish go ahead 14-7 at halftime. In the third quarter running back brothers Cortaz and Coleon Williams were able to move the chains with a physical run approach. Rickey “Pop” Spruill was the stand out performance with 5 catches, 85 receiving yards, 2 rushing touchdowns and an interception on defense. Junior Cortaz Williams also records his 3,000 career rushing yard. Notre Dame will close out the season against Trenton next week for the top spot in the WJFL Capitol division. Trenton 7 Steinert 0 

James Hubbard’s 39 yard punt return late in the second quarter was the only score of the game as Trenton leaned on its defense to get to 4-3 on the season.  Watch JSZ’s highlights from the state capital:

Elizabeth 12 Westfield 0

The Minutemen shutout the Blue Devils 12-0. Javon Wactor had 30 carries for 13 yards and 2 touchdowns, while the Minutemen defense recorded 5 sacks. Check out full highlights now:

Junior quarterback Ryan Shelton was a dual-threat menace for the Minutemen defense as he accounted for 260 total yards and three touchdowns in a big win for the Fighting Clan. JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the highlights:

The Red Devils continued their infectious winning ways as they won their eighth game of the season, making the argument as one of the top teams in South Jersey.
