Ocean 7 Matawan 5 – Monmouth County Tournament
Max Winters pitched 5 2/3 innings without giving up an earned run and the Spartans used a four-run first inning to earn a spot in the MCT Round of 16 and a matchup with #2 seed CBA on Saturday afternoon. Ryan Toomey was 2-4 with 2 RBI’s for Ocean Township who improves to 6-7 on the season. Matawan saw a five-game win streak snapped. Watch the highlights from Ocean Township High:
Bordentown 13 Doane Academy 3
On Senior night Bordentown picked up another impressive win as they took down Doane Academy 13-3. The festivities were underway once Dillon Drew cranked out a grand slam in the fourth to give the Scotties a 4-0 lead. Sean O’ Leary would also come up big as he finished with a stand up double to help Bordentown take a 7-3 at the end of the fourth inning. Drew and O’ Leary would both add another RBI to their stat sheets as they helped one of the best teams in South Jersey’s close out the game in the sixth inning via the ten run rule.
