Cedar Grove 27 Weequahic 7 | Super Football Conference
Cedar Grove and Weequahic had a much anticipated Week 1 matchup after the last time the two teams faced off was in 2022 during the Final Round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 Tournament. Then, Weequahic came away with the victory, defeating Cedar Grove 21-10. The Panthers got to return the favor in 2024, as they walked away with a 27-7 win. Junior RB Thomas Cannataro led Cedar Grove with two touchdowns, one coming from an early fumble recovery. QB Stephen Paradiso controlled the offensive tempo and scored a touchdown of his own.

Don Bosco Prep 44 Red Bank Catholic 0 | Non-Conference
The Ironmen defense was dominant in every sense of the word Friday night as they secured a notable shutout against the reigning Non-Public B state champions. Gino Greco, Kyle Ramos and Robert Ekins all played a major part in holding the Caseys to just 44 total net yards in the game. Don Bosco Prep (1-1) accounted for 242 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in the win. Red Bank Catholic (0-2) is off to its worst start since losing two-straight games to begin the 2009 season.

Timber Creek 27 Notre Dame 24 | West Jersey Football League
Facing 4th and 23 with under a minute to go, Quadir Baldwin caught a short pass and raced 98 yards as the Chargers stunned the Irish. Tyrone Baker Jr. threw two touchdown passes and rushed for two more scores in the victory for Creek (2-0). Julian Matera threw three touchdown passes for Notre Dame (1-1) in the loss.

Camden 30 Kingsway 0 | West Jersey Football League
The Panthers continued their early season road trip with a dominant effort against the Dragons to stay unbeaten on the young season. Christian Braxton rushed for 142 yards and scored two total touchdowns to lead the way. Jaiden Steele added a pair of rushing touchdowns for Camden (2-0). Tommy DiPietro had a forced fumble and an interception for Kingsway (1-1).

Rumson-Fair Haven 41 Point Pleasant Boro 28 | Shore Conference
Owen O’Toole threw three touchown passes and Kellen Murray ran for 133 yards and three TD’s as the Bulldogs held off a furious second half comeback to avenge last year’s regular season loss to the Panthers. RFH raced out to a 28-7 halftime lead and led by 20 in the fourth quarter before Point Boro QB Jake Clayton sparked a comebak. Clayton’s third TD run of the game was a spectacular 55 yard run that featured five broken tackles to get the Panthers with 34-28 with 2:13 to go in the game. But Murray’s third TD run of the game covering 56 yards ended the comeback attempt.

Shore Regional 28 Pinelands 7 | Shore Conference
The Blue Devils outscored the Wildcats 14-0 in the second half to secure Donald Klein’s first win at his alma mater. Klein, Ocean Township’s all-time winningest coach, came back to Shore to replace Mark Costantino after 32 years. The Blue Devils produced two turnovers in the second half and got touchdowns from Braeden Farmer and Brendan O’Brien in the fourth quarter.
