JSZ keeps the Week 4 action going with highlights from four marquee games!

Red Bank Catholic 14 Donovan Catholic 7

Sabino Portella ran for 185 yards and two first-quarter touchdowns and the Caseys leaned on their defense the rest of the way to avenge its only loss of 2021 to reach the 5-0 mark this season.  Portella scored from 49 yards out on the second play from scrimmage and added an 8-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.  Donovan Catholic rallied in the fourth thanks to Michael Thomas III scoring on an 80-yard touchdown from a blocked field goal courtesy of Richard Davis.  But the Griffins high powered offense was stifled by RBC’s stellar defensive unit.

Phillipsburg 34 Hillsborough 0

Phillipsburg defeated Hillsborough 34-0 to improve to 4-0 on the season and handed the Raiders (3-1) their first loss of the year, snapping a 16 game win streak dating back to last season. Touchdowns from Xavier Moore, Matt Scerbo Jr. and Jett Genovese had the Stateliners ahead 21-0 at halftime. A late 53 yard punt return from Isiah Jackson energized the crowd as P-Burg avenged their overtime loss to Boro from 2021. Caldwell (4-0), who has now won 19 consecutive games dating back to the 2020 season, faced one of their biggest tests on that current run Friday night. The Chiefs relied on a great ground game and tough defense to take down their crosstown rivals, West Essex (2-2).
