Friday night lights in Week 3 brought rivalries, big plays, and statement wins all across New Jersey. Our team has the highlights and postgame reaction from another loaded night on the gridiron.

Old Tappan 28 Ramapo 24 | Super Football Conference

This colossal showdown between two Top 20 teams in the state was even better than advertised. Zach Miceli connected with Shane Small for four touchdowns on the night to fuel the offense before a wild defensive stand with time winding down secured a hard-fought win for Old Tappan (4-0). Miceli found Small on a wild broken play for the go-ahead touchdown with 1:49 to go in regulation to cap off their night. Leo Etter made a game saving tackle with no time on the clock to keep Raiders’ QB Casey Grusser out of the endzone to secure the win. Ramapo (2-1) had three rushing touchdowns in the loss – Gino Gorga, Liam Hayward and Grusser all found paydirt on Friday night.

The Mustangs scored on all but one possession in the first half, capped off by a long touchdown run from Lucas DeBiaso, who added a flashy move at the end. Quarterback John Franchini later mirrored that move after scoring on a rushing touchdown in the second half. Mainland now shifts their attention to their Week 4 home matchup with top-ranked St. Augustine.
