Day Two of the 2025 football season is filled with some BIG games, including the 2025 Battle at the Beach at Rowan University! JSZ once again has plenty of action from all around the Garden State. Check back throughout the night as highlights come in! 


St. Peter’s Prep 42 Paramus Catholic 26 | Super Football Conference

The Marauders new-look ground game was stellar Friday night as they kicked off their 2025 season with a resounding win. Abdul Turay (19 carries, 180 yards, 1 TD) and Tyler Barksdale (15 carries, 92 yards, 2 TD) carried the load for St. Peter’s Prep (1-0).  Tyler Bell had a pair of short TD passes to round out an A+ day for the offense. The defense made a few timely stops while also forcing two turnovers in the win. Paramus Catholic (0-1) got an incredible performance from junior Nehki Martin, who had five catches for 172 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.

Rumson-Fair Haven 34 Point Pleasant Boro 0 | Shore Conference

The defending Group 2 state champions unveiled a two QB system to replace 5,000 yard passer Owen O’Toole and the pair made quite a first impression.  Junior Casey Moore had a TD run and TD pass while sophomore Brady Williams had two TD passes and a TD run.  The duo combined to go 12 for 17 for 164 yards, 3 touchdown passes and no picks.  Kellen Murray ran for 104 yards and the RFH defense was the first team to blank the Panthers since 2020.

Washington Township 43 Hillsborough 12 | Battle at the Beach

The Minutemen kicked off their 2025 campaign for back-to-back sectional titles—and their first-ever state championship—on a high note. Senior quarterback Cole Aquino led the charge, throwing for three touchdowns and adding another on the ground. Senior WR/DB Paris Pratt matched a game-high with four receptions, including a 32-yard touchdown catch, and came up big defensively with an interception in the final seconds of the first half. Washington Township was firing on all cylinders in a strong season opener, setting the tone for what they hope will be a championship run.

Hun 48 Pennington 0 | Mid-Atlantic Prep League

 Sophomore QB Lukas Prock tossed four touchdowns on the day, including a pair of long strikes — 45 yards to Tommy Douglas and 50 yards to Brady Scheier — as the Raiders rolled in their home opener against Pennington.

Seton Hall Prep 14 St. John Vianney 12 | Non-Conference

Bryce Robbins had a 92-yard kickoff return for a TD after St. John Vianney took the lead in the third quarter and Aiden Lockett’s 27-yard TD catch proved to be the game winner as the Pirates held off the Lancers.  Joshua Griffith broke up a two point conversion pass to tie the game.

Rancocas Valley 33 Millville 14 | Battle at the Beach

The Red Devils grabbed a statement victory over the Thunderbolts in a battle between two of South Jersey’s best to close out Day 2 at the Battle at the Beach. Monmouth commit Sayvien Adams went for 210 total yards and accounted for three touchdowns, including two passing scores to Ricky Doppler and Mikey McQueen. David Ogunsola led a stout defensive effort with an interception and a pair of sacks for Rancocas Valley (1-0). Reggie Holley rushed for two touchdowns as Millville (0-1) put together a late comeback bid in the loss.
