St. Augustine 12 Delbarton 5 | Non-Public “A” State Final
The Hermits exploded for an 11-run third inning on Thursday, and knocked off the state’s top-ranked team on Friday despite a 24-hour wait due to weather. Alex Bersani highlighted the unforgettable third inning with a grand slam while Alex Weingartner provided a pair of RBI singles in the frame for St. Augustine (20-9). Northwestern commit Matt Kouser guided the Hermits through the final three innings to their first state title since 2018. Duke commit Sal Garcia finished with 3 RBIs in the loss for Delbarton (30-3).

Gloucester Catholic 10 St. Thomas Aquinas 0 (5 Innings) | Non-Public “B” State Final
Tate DeRias threw a five inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and the Rams used a seven run first inning to set the tone for the program’s 21st baseball state championship. DeRias struck out the side in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings and only allowed two baserunners with a pair o walks in the second. Jake Terranova made a diving catch to end the top of the fifth to preserve the no-hitter and the Rams added three runs in the bottom of the 5th to clinch it with Brady Belfus providing the walk-off smash to left center.
